March was an especially busy month, as it ran alongside Ramadan. Our team worked hard across the globe, providing nourishing food for iftar, temporary prayer areas and helping communities take part in the spirits of this blessed month.

Mussallahs (Prayer Areas) in Gaza

With mosques in Gaza damaged or destroyed, worshippers were congregating in the streets and praying among the rubble. We constructed prayer areas (Mussallahs) in Gaza, bringing unity and a place to pray this blessed month. The largest was in Khan Younis and had a maximum capacity of 1,000 worshippers. Al-Aqsa Iftar

We are honoured to hold iftar at Al-Aqsa every year and this year, we were able to continue the tradition. Alhamdulillah thanks to your generosity, we opened fasts at the Holy Mosque, providing dates and nourishing meals for iftar.

Date Box Distribution

We believe every Muslim deserves to fulfil the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and open their fast with dates in Ramadan. However, dates are seen as a luxury for many around the globe and are not always accessible. Our team distributed dates to fasting Muslims in Lebanon, helping them to fulfil the Sunnah.

Africa Food Parcels & Iftar Meals

Our teams on the ground distributed food parcels and hot meals in Somalia, Chad and Sudan. Within these areas, many remain affected by poverty and conflict and are at risk of malnutrition. In Sudan, conflict has displaced entire communities, while many Sudanese refugees have fled to Chad in search of safety and are now reliant on external aid. In Somalia, millions face a hunger crisis, without even 1 meal a day.

Asia Hot Meals & Food Parcels

We provided food parcels and hot meals in Afghanistan, Bangladesh (Rohingya refugees) and Pakistan. Many in South Asia face hunger concerns especially due to mass displacement and political instability. Yeryüzü Merhamet provides nourishing meals, granting immediate relief.

MENA Food Parcels & Iftar Meals

Yeryüzü Merhamet delivered food parcels and hot meals in Yemen, Palestine and Lebanon. Throughout these regions, communities face severe concerns and many rely solely on external aid. In Palestine, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza causes millions to be without food, while entire communities in Yemen face malnutrition. Meanwhile, Lebanon is host to over a million Syrian and Palestinian refugees who live in difficult conditions.

Restoring Roads in Gaza

As a result of the conflict, roads in Gaza have been severely damaged, making everyday life even more challenging. Our team on the ground has begun an initiative, entering its third phase, to clear the rubble and rebuild key routes, ensuring safe access for ambulances, aid deliveries and individuals in Gaza.

How many people did we support in Ramadan 2025?

Alhamdulillah thanks to your support, we helped communities in need this month. As Ramadan fell alongside March, we distributed iftar, food parcels and more essentials.
