Manchester, UK: Children in Manchester raise vital funds for Yeryüzü Merhamet’s education initiative, providing disadvantaged children worldwide with school supplies .
As part of their Back to School initiative, Manchester-based humanitarian aid charity Yeryüzü Merhametworked withDidsbury Mosque’sQuran School to raise vital funds for children around the world. Hundreds of children were given money boxes to raise money forother disadvantaged children.
The children raised an incredible £7,298 which will support other childrenaround the globewith school supplies.

About the Campaign
Children inpovertyorconflict-affected areas don’thave the necessarytoolsto show up to school prepared and ready to learn. They could be thenext doctorsorteachers, but without basic school supplies, it becomesharderthan ever to fulfil their potential. Some children are forced tocarrytheirbooksin plastic bags, which providevery little protection from the rain. Several don’thaveuniformsto wear to school, including shoes. Theyhave to walk barefoot to receive an education.
Yeryüzü Merhamet’sBack to School campaign provides children with what they need to succeed. We distribute school supplies and uniforms, allowingchildrento show up to school prepared and ready to learn, as every child deserves to. Thisis anannual initiative we will continue to do for theforeseeable future. This year,wefocused on how all children are superstars, and we needed a little help to‘let them shine’
Additional Information
Hundreds of children took part in this initiative. Allchildrenreceived a certificate thanking them for their contribution and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place from each group wona prize. The highest fundraisers raised an outstanding £1,000+ alone.
